TrailMail

A practical outreach guide

How to find likely work emails from a company page

A person's profile may show their name and employer without listing an email address. A company email format can suggest an address, but a suggestion is not a verified inbox.

1. Confirm the company and its email domain

Start with the employer's official website and public contact information. The company's website domain and its email domain may differ. Do not assume a LinkedIn profile URL tells you the right mail domain.

2. Learn the pattern, then label the result as a prediction

Organizations often use formats such as first.last@company.com or firstinitiallast@company.com. A known public address can reveal a likely pattern, but teams, contractors, and name collisions create exceptions. TrailMail uses your Hunter.io key to help infer patterns from a LinkedIn company page; its generated addresses remain predictions, not promises that a mailbox exists.

Before you send:

Review the name, company, domain, and spelling. If accuracy matters, use an appropriate verification service or an official contact form. Avoid sending sensitive documents to a predicted address.

3. Write a relevant, respectful message

Use a real reason to contact the person. Keep the message short, identify yourself, and make it easy to decline further outreach. Follow the recipient's preferences and the rules that apply to your use of email and the platform. Bulk messages to unverified predictions are likely to waste credits and annoy recipients.

4. Understand what tracking can and cannot tell you

TrailMail can send through your connected Gmail and show open or click signals where supported. An open signal is not proof a person read your message: image blocking, privacy protections, caching, and automated link scanning can hide or create signals. Judge a campaign by useful replies, not only pixel events.
